Circle of Light
Inspired by the breathtaking combination of room and light in the Roman Pantheon, Polaron’s
circular luminaire body shapes the light emitted, illuminating the room without direction.
With surface mounted, semi-recessed, and recessed variations available, the Polaron series is
highly flexible, and adaptable to any application. A translucent luminaire body helps to
distribute light evenly throughout the space inhabited.
Due to the artistic design of the fitting, whether switched on or off, the Polaron serves as a
design feature. When on, the fitting glows creating a serene ambience. When off, the soft
appearance of the circular design transforms into a subtle and pure design object in its own
right.
With its characteristic secondary light component, TRILUX Polaron efficiently leverages the
advantages of direct-indirect lighting.
Polaron luminaires can be dimmed optimally, when ordered with dimming ballasts. With T5
circular lamps of different colour temperatures (2700, 5400 Kelvin suggested),
the twin lamp Polaron creates an opportunity for individual daylight-like
ambience.
Polaron is a series that offers unique customising capabilities. Fittings can be
individualised, to suit what YOU want (to a certain extent.) With the ability to
order coloured rings, and to include motives/logos ‘inside’ the luminaire body,
this luminaire series can be made your own. Any modifications to the ordinary
will incur minor additional charges, though the originality and creative
uniqueness this allows is priceless.
The Polaron is available in various sizes. Body diameter options of 272mm or
347mm are available, with body depths of 85mm for single lamp versions or
107mm for twin lamp configurations. The smaller body size is available as
surface mounted, whilst the larger version is available in surface mount,
semi-recessed, or recessed.
With the inclusion of a configurator on a dedicated microsite, the possibility to
simulate deployment situations is achieved. Varying colours and accessories
may be allocated to the three installation variations of the Polaron. This
simulated luminaire can then be integrated into various interiors, and a virtual
light switch can be triggered to show the effect of the luminaire upon its
environment.
Flexibility, creativity, efficiency, and intelligent design.

The Green Revolution
Northbridge Properties is one of the largest
developers of commercial property on Auckland’s North
Shore, principally in Albany. Over the past five years
they have developed over 40,000m2 of commercial
space, predominantly low-rise
office parks. Among their building ‘brag sheet’ are listed
head office space for large corporates such as Samsung,
Billabong Surfwear, and Makita Power Tools.
They have dispelled the myth that cheapest is best,
proving that demand for higher quality is increasing
every year. Close association with Enlightenz has
ensured that energy efficiency objectives of prospective
clients can be satisfied.
Staying true to sustainability and energy efficiency
guides, Northbridge Properties employed the services and
expertise of Enlightenz when embarking on the lighting
fit-out of their own new head-office in Albany, North
Shore.
A particularly striking and unique area of the project is
the lounge/break-out area. The minimalistic architectural
design statement texturally supported by quality natural
timber and stainless steel materials opened a clear avenue
for any lighting designer to follow. A defined scope, with
room for artistic expression provides and ideal canvas to
accentuate the ambience of an area.
The very latest luminaire offerings from TRILUX
further enhance an already exquisite environment.
Slither-thin, low-glare LUCEO CDP suspended
luminaires provide even illuminance distribution, without
glare. With a clean and uniform ceiling wash, the area is
illuminated harmoniously and with no disturbance in the
line of sight. Elegant and finely crafted Oceanus
fittings, housed in hand-made plaster mounting kits, the
downlights remain a feature whether switched on or off.
Enlightenz have entered an award entry in the 2008 IES
Lighting awards, for the headquarters of Northbridge
Properties. Results will be announced in October. Look
out for some further exciting news in this regard.

Creativity Unleashed
TRILUX honoured the winners of the 2008 LUX FUTURA Awards at the Light & Building
Exhibition in Frankfurt.
Light ideas for the future, which find their way to the here and now - the LUX FUTURA Award
is based on this ambitious objective. Prompted by TRILUX - the second edition of the
competition came to a close with an award ceremony held at the Light & Building in Frankfurt.
Over the past four years, the LUX FUTURA Award has evolved into an honour that is
well-received and widely accepted in the industry due to its high caliber panel of judges. The
“glimpses into the future”, which are singled out by this award, know how to impress.
Honoured before more than 500 spectators, “all honourees showed that they could create light for
the future”, said Richard Taylor of TRILUX in praise of the talent of the upcoming designers.
LUX FUTURA aims to unleash the creative potential of young students, designers and architects
and to encourage them to embark on new avenues in design and stylistic forms. The interaction
between product designers and technicians is frequently governed by strict ground rules that
force creativity into a corset - LUX FUTURA, on the other hand, loosens things up and offers
leeway for ideas without the economic and technical restrictions.
“Creating something new, taking risks and making experimental mistakes - that’s what I expect
from students,” says Andrés Jaque, one of the members of LUX FUTURA’s panel of experts,
about his hopes. “All contestants are subject to the following: They should question everything
they have learned and do the opposite of what their teachers say.”
For further information on what successful participants have achieved with their own light concepts,
please navigate to www.luxfutura.com website, where you may also view the winning luminaires.
TRILUX have included a previous award winning
entry as part of their product portfolio for 2009. Team
members Tobias Lo and Ralf Manthey presented a concept
for workspace floor lamps. Equipped with state of the
art LED systems, designed for variable lighting
technology, the concept was awarded second prize in
the 2006 LUX FUTURA Awards. The Estilio is
cleverly activated by simply tilting the luminaire head.
A reflector on the underside of the head guides the light
focused by singular optics directly and
unobtrusively onto the task area, with infinitely
variable mechanics. The effect : maximum aesthetics
with a compact design, and optimal light efficiency.
